The past few trips I’ve become really fascinated with shooting the tree from the It’s a Bug Life exit. I’ve found there’s no better time to try it than when they are running one of the shows as you get so many different color schemes to attempt to capture. Add in a few lasers (I could go for a few more) and I end up with an image I’m happy with. Enjoy.

The Tree of Life - AKA The Kalaloch Tree/The Runaway Tree is a Sitka spruce.

The Sitka spruce is noted for both its towering height and its wide trunk, two characteristics that contribute to this tree’s mystery. This massive tree clings to its parting coastal bluff by twisted thick roots with the majority of the root system now hanging into the existing void.

It still manages to live and thrive, even though its life supply has been taken away. With no soil underneath to support its growth, you wonder how it has withstood the intense coastal storms and the erosion from the stream within the cave. The existence of this tree goes against all the rules of science, a tree clinging to life.

There is mention that a couple has been coming to see the tree for 4 decades. And each year the tree remains in its questionable position, though it’s hard not to notice the dip and sag in the middle. Likely a result of the trunk’s heavy weight. It’s that dip and sag that make continual visitors believe that come next year, the tree will be no more.

( I don't usually post more than 1 post a day, but have been without wifi for a few days so will do a few while I can😊)

This tree seems to be in quite the precarious situation as its root structure is exposed from soil erosion. Yet it keeps holding on.

I love this tree... definitely one of my favorites. For some reason, it always makes me feel like I'm on some far away journey, an African safari maybe? :-)

dedicated to IckleEagle for her sweet testimonial... thank you!

For this dreamy morning effect, I started with a 2017 image of bird ladened tree taken in fog. In Snapseed I lightened the image, then added contrast by writing a new set of curves. Last step in Snapseed was applying the drama bright 2 preset. To give the tree a soft effect I used Brushstokes, picking N1 preset as my favorite. In DistressedFX I used just peachy at 70% and dusty at 60%. I finished by adding vignette 50 in Snapseed and hard cover border in Formulas.

I've completed 7 sephirot on the tree of life (and the pseudo-sephira that Golden-Dawn-types call "Daath"). Hit a bit of a standstill due to lack of the shade I use for the interstitial squares, which is why Tiferet and Hod aren't linked in.

Birds Fly To The Tree Of Life In The Rise Of Morning. The Tree of Life also known as The Tree Root Cave in Kalaloch, WA has nearly all of its roots exposed due to soil erosion, yet it still remains upright and sprouts green leaves every year.

I hate to admit it, but December was my first time closing out Animal Kingdom.... Ever..... I had never stayed in the parks until it was dark before. Seeing all the great opportunities for photography, I am upset at myself that I haven't done it earlier. Here is a shot of the iconic Tree of Life which houses that 3d attraction, It's Tough to Be a Bug. I will have more night shots of Animal Kingdom to come at a later date. Stay Tuned and have a magical rest of the week!

Found in many African countries, Baobab trees can grow for up to 5,000 years. They can reach up to 30 metres high and up to an enormous 50 metres in circumference.

A beautiful coastal tree with the roots exposed and thriving. It took me years to make it out to the Olympic Peninsula to see it. It was much smaller in person. ;)

The tree, designed by artist Hans de Win, was made with a view to the 700th anniversary of 's-Gravenpolder. It was created in collaboration with many residents of 's-Gravenpolder. they literally did their part by creating a tile that is incorporated into the artwork. Hundreds of small tiles have been made. tiles with memories or dreams about the future. All tiles together form a stylized tree.

I'll drink of he clear stream,

And hear the linnet's song;

And there I'll lie and dream

The day along:

And, when night comes, I'll go

To places fit for woe:

Walking along the darken'd valley,

With Silent Melancholy.

Tree of Life

Quilt Title: Tree of Life, Spring (1994)

Artist: Jane Sassaman, Harvard, Illinois

Venue: National Quilt Museum, Paducah, Kentucky

An artwork created with 4 pictures taken with Canon EOS 100D + Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 HSM Art. All at 18mm, 100 ISO and f/1.8. (Some little variations on exposure time, I was on apreture priority mode). I used no tripod : here again, this lens is just amazing !

It was during the ligthshow of the Iconic Tree of life, symbol of the Universal Expo Milano 2015.

I was happy being there. The only concept of Universal Exhibition reminds me of the Paris expo at the end of the 19th century during which was built the Eiffel Tower. However, I can imagine that the atmosphere was kind of different. Indeed, scientific positivism is replaced by sociological and environemental issues.

The Tree of Life, designed by architect Dominic Galicia (more details here: bit.ly/2yVi1GJ), is located at the courtyard of the former Department of Tourism building (formerly the Department of Agriculture building too). The retrofitted building, which is a fine example of the harmonious merging of the old and the the new, will be the nation’s first museum devoted to our rich and diverse flora and fauna.

The museum which will open soon is the newest addition to the already existing National Museum of Anthropology and the National Museum of Fine Arts.

These baobab trees in Bwabwata National Park were huge, and so lovely with their leaves.

Pass then through this little space of time conformably to nature, and end thy journey in content, just as an olive falls off when it is ripe, blessing nature who produced it, and thanking the tree on which it grew - Marcus Aurelius
